Erica Tai is a Taiwanese-born chef, registered dietitian and culinary leader based in Santa Fe. She serves as executive chef and general manager at Alkemė, a nationally recognized restaurant that she helped launch in 2023 alongside chef-owner Hue-Chan Karels. Erica’s journey has taken her from Taiwan to Hawaii and then New Mexico where she learned the craft of culinary arts and hospitality. Alekmė’s “culture-to-table” concept brings distinct histories into a shared kitchen where heritage is experienced and carried forward – one table at a time.
